NowHeraklion.com in association with the Technopolis Group are delighted to offer five free tickets to see MODE PLAGAL live at the Technopolis Open-Air Theatre, Ammoudara, Heraklion on Friday 14th September.
Congratulations to our winners George Ergazakis, Kostas Karnikis, Maria Kasnakidi, Melpo Tserevelaki and Antonis Giakoumakis whose names were first out of the hat in our prize draw and each win free entrance to the concert.
The answer to our question "Can you name the title of Mode Plagal's first album?" was "Mode Plagal".
Many thanks to everyone else who entered our contest, we had many correct answers, but there could only be five winners... so better luck next time folks!
Mode Plagal belong to a group of bands who, using the jazz technique, have created a unique musical idiom. An idiom with references to traditional music and verse, to Byzantine sounds, funk rhythms and many other musical elements which do not belong to just one genre, or have not been used per se, but only as influences. The Athens based band was formed in 1990 by Thodoris Rellos (saxophone, vocals), Kleon Antoniou (guitars, vocals) and Takis Kanellos (drums). In 1995 Antonis Maratos (bass) joined the band and they then released their first album. More about Mode Plagal here.
