NowHeraklion.com in association with the Technopolis Group are delighted to offer five free tickets to see MONOPHONICS (+support WHY NOT THE BAND) live at Cine Studio Live, Nea Alikarnassos, Heraklion on Wednesday 17th October.
Congratulations to our winners Konstantinos Kouratoras, Galateia Iatraki, Paul Jay, Katerina Plemmenou and Basilis Papadopoulos whose names were first out of the hat in our prize draw and who each win free entrance to the concert.
The answer to our question "In what year were Monophonics formed?" was "2005".
Many thanks to everyone else for your entries, we had many correct answers, but there could only be five winners so better luck next time folks!
Psychedelic Soul, sometimes called Black Rock, is a sub-genre of Soul music, which mixes the characteristics of Soul with Psychedelic Rock. It came to prominence in the late 1960s and continued into the 1970s, playing a major role in the development of Soul and Funk music. Over the past seven years, Monophonics have staked their claim as one of California’s premier bands. Raised amid the Bay Area’s rich musical culture, Monophonics have carried on the tradition of music native to their hometown, which flourished during the birth of psychedelia. More about Monophonics here.
